Great pictures Trigger Thanks alot!!!  Would have been tough to be a Uboat man who suffered from claustrophobia wouldn't it! Never been inside a U-boat but have been in an American WW2 sub, the "Torsk" is on disply at the inner harbor in Baltimore. No bumps on my noggin either! To bad you couldn't get back when you wanted but looks like you and the Family had a good time.

Good point for the new husbands out there, if you want to go back, make sure you put the wife up in a nice hotel in grand style!

As I expected somehow, the u-boats were not mentioned. Apparently when builidng the ehrenmahl the u-boats had such a bad name they were somehow "forgotten" This however was made up by building them a ehrenmal at Moeltenort, nearby.

Ok, well, this story appears to be complete BS, according to the official sites of both ehrenmals and the genaral history site, the u-boot ehrenmal was built even before the marine ehrenmal... Moeltenort was buit over the period 1919-1930 as Laboe was originally built over the period 1925-1936

Afternoon all!

I am still around, though am extremely busy these days with the boredom that is real life work. It is as though I have been put in a shell for a couple of years, to be honest!

I am glad you guys are still around, and thanks Dan for alerting me to the spammer who I have now removed along with all the irritating posts.

Mit fette Beute!
Rick

Some familiar faces. I return from the long patrol, with much beard and little sunlight. Figuratively speaking. I see there's still some activity here.

Hello All Again,

Sorry to have been gone for so long, have been very busy with my U-805 project. I am working on the deck and hull details.  As you may remember there is no kit of a 1/72 Type IX out there, so  this has to be scratch built. Much time and effort has been given on this project. So far over 100 hours have been spent on this and I am not 1/2 done.

Regards to all,

Dan
