Hi Natacha05

First welcome to the board and hope you find it interesting and knowledgeable.

My first worry about your decanter is the fact you say it is inscribed to cpt Prien, Prien was of course a German submariner and if this was indeed presented to Prien by Hitler it would be inscribed in the German way, Kpt Prien. His full title of course at the time been Kptl.

Second it may be just a typo on your part but it is Scapa Flow where he sunk the Royal Oak.

I would suspect though if you both have the same set many will be in circulation as it was probably a memento been made by a company for mass sale.

Also I would personally not give my phone No out on a public notice board much better is to PM the person you wish to contact and give it that way.

Hi Graham,

Many thanks mate . Yes a couple of typo erors Kptl Prien is on the decanter not cpt and Scapa Flow not as I wrote. I have been away in the Far East for over five weeks and a friend of my informed me last night about this forum,a bit of jet lag I am afraid.

No worries my friend, you wantr to see some of the typo's I have made over the years :-)

I have replied to your PM and was suprised and interested in the whereabouts you obtained the decanter in that I hope as it sounds a great find.
