Mate, I've been incapacitated for the past three days with some kind of brutal stomach flu. Couldn't eat for two days, only just managed to choke down half a sandwich about ten hours ago, spent the first day puking every time I put fluids down and passed out every few hours because I was dehydrated so badly. Still dehydrated now, but at least I can walk without going light-headed and I have managed to eat.

Imagine me on your boat, Dbauer. I'dve had us all half-killed, the sound of coughing and wretching would've brought down the ASW on our heads with the passive sonar/hydrophone arrays. Fortunately I'm mostly recovered now, but I chalk that up to something that you probably wouldn't have on a U-Boat: Gatorade/Powerade. Managed to choke down a fair bit of that and learnt two things: Electrolytes are great and it's easier on the stomach than other things, and that vomit can be rather colourful at times.

 Hello!

I am so sorry to hear you are not well. I hope all is better for you now! Yes, it would be hell if you were sick on board an U-Boot. It is bad enough to be sick on shore, let alone a pictching rolling sub in the North Atlantic!

Best Regards,

and hoping you are better!

I'm mostly good to go now - oddly enough, I don't get seasick.

I think that a "parabolic vomit arc" would turn the stomachs of more than a few of the crew on the Boot, no matter how used to the tossing and turning they are.

Felt well enough to write, now to see if I can't get some exercise. There's a new thread in the "Games and Sims" section; the literary take on a patrol report from Silent Hunter III and what my beloved U-48 (I was surprised to have that tower number myself, trust me) Type VIIB has been up to. Might occupy five minutes or so of your time enjoyably, at least that's my hope.
