I'd like to know how to hide/show the interface in SH III. I know it's NUM Pad Del but that doesn't seem to work for me. I've got it (SH) running on Windows Vista Home Premium & it's a "vanilla" install (no mods & patched up to 1.4b). Is there any way to remap this particular key.  All the other key functions appear to work  properly.

Thanks in advance...

PS. I know this post ought to go in the SH III thread; I accidently posted it here.

I would recommend you hit the SH3 forums attached to the UbiSoft forums, and ask there. If I recall correctly, there is a key remapping utility available somewheres that someone should be able to point you towards - unfortunately, not me, since I only remember seeing it and not where I saw it, and thanks to having to be up early tomorrow morning, can't go hunting for it just now unfortunately.

Thanks for the help. I found out how to hide/unhide the game's interface after a bit of digging. FYI: activate the Num Lock key before pressing the number pad Del one. This is one item (& there are a few) that's not covered in the manual, F1 (Help screen), etc. SH III is a great game but it's user manual is pretty .

Sank my first tug boat last night. Felt kind of bad afterwards. I know that they're not worth the effort normally but there were pretty slim pickings this patrol.

U-77 out...

Tuboat isn't too bad, ~1000 tons or so and often help Royal Navy vessels. It's the little fishing boats that you should feel bad about.

Ever see an Elco Torpedo Boat wrecked in rough weather? Hilarity. I love the line from Das Boot: "No ship is more seaworthy than ours!" That is, whenever the weather gets rough. SH3 gives me some pretty bad remberances of hard nights out on the Atlantic.

I once disassembled a fishing boat with my deck gun in another career. I'd come across it almost as soon as I left Brest. Figured that since it was flying a British Flag it was fair game.

I've never seen an Elco founder due to bad weather. I did see one collide with a T2 tanker once. It happened during a single player mission called "Ice, Ice Baby" that I'd downloaded. Just one big BOOM ! Bits & pieces of both boats were raining down everywhere. It really  me off too because I'd been stalking that tanker for close to an hour, trying to get into a decent firing position from below. Then along comes this damn Elco! That torpedo boat's accidental Kamikaze mission (probably a bug in the mission design) cost me the credit I would have otherwise received for eventually getting the tanker.

Ah, that's a real bitch!

I was in rough weather, just horrible. My watch crew screams out an alert about an enemy ship, I go up top and I'm being told it's a warship, and it's so bad out that I can't see further than fifty meters (Fortunately the AI have amazing X-Ray LPI RADAR vision) and this is well prior to installing the radar set on my boat. So I crashdive, and I can't get below the waves fast enough because of how rough the surface is. I level out at 50 and start hunting this thing, figuring it to be a destroyer.

Then I resurface once I lose the contact completely, only to find a burning Elco, blasted by the waves alone. Same patrol, I saw a capsized Destroyer, I think it was a V&W. Torp'd it and got the credit.
