Just wanted to let people know (in case they weren't previously aware of it) about this utility. It's available here: http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html . This is a seriously cool add-on for the game. It gives your cmdr a history (place of birth, enlistment date, etc.) , adds proper German ranks & award titles & a host of other stuff too. For a while I was hesitant about downloading it as I wasn't sure that it would work on Vista & I didn't want to screw up my SH III install. It works fine with Vista Home Premium (32-bit). Long story short; if you don't have SH III Commander, get it; you'll be glad that you did. It's a free download btw.

Sorry, , did it again. Meant for this post to go in the SH III thread.

No worries Gasbag. I get the feeling we should have two SH3 related threads, one for "Patrol Reports" and the other for discussing mods and the like.

The JSGME (JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler) is a VERY useful piece of kit if you've not already got it as well. Easily switch out gramophone "records" (what I originally used it for), hull textures, and even enable mini-mods or some total conversion mods.

I think a "Patrol Reports" thread is a great idea, the next skipper to set sail should start it.

Glad to see you kicked it off mate. I've been going through SH3 withdrawal for the past 2.5 months or so!

Thanks. I've been having a rough time of staying abreast of all new developments in the online communities in which I work. At the moment, the roommate is in the next room over trying to play the guitar but failing horribly. It's sad, because until he started trying to play it, I enjoyed that song.

With this laptop and wifi access, I should be able to frequent the forums a bit more often. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, I'll leave to you to decide.
