Classified advertising is named that it's usually
sorted at intervals the publication under headings
classifying the products or service being offered
(headings admire Accounting, Automobiles, Clothing,
Farm Produce, For Sale, For Rent.

Advertisements in a newspaper usually are short, as
they're charged for by the line or word, and are one
newspaper column wide. The advertisements are grouped
into classes or training. Hence the term classified is
used for it.

It permits non-public people to sell products or
services.
