Another major benefit to working with these types of
systems is the reduction in time as well as the
complication of getting vital medical records. At one time,
patients had to report to administrative buildings within
specific hospitals or facilities to get their records, and
those records were only available for a brief period before
they were archived. Now, medical records and patient
information can be retrieved quickly and at virtually any
location that shares the network. This includes lab
results, images from scans, immunization and shot records,
treatment data, chart notes and more.
Lastly, the greatest benefit is the reduction in medicals
errors that occur all too often because of communications
issues, handwriting, missed notes and other line items that
don't make it into a chart (or are physically lost from the
chart). The EMR software and HER help doctors and staff
accurately input and track medical history, medications,
allergies, and staff updates within the chart.
