interceptions on the season and accounted for 346 yards

10,115 yards and 101 touchdowns with just 12
interceptions in his college career with another 2,136
yards and 28 touchdowns rushing. A quarterback has won 12
of the past 14 Heisman Trophies, with the other two going
to running backs Reggie Bush for the 2005 season and Mark
Ingram in 2009. Bush gave back his award after it was
vacated due to sanctions against USC. Gordon would be
Wisconsins third winner after running backs Alan Ameche
in 1954 and Ron Dayne in 1999. Running back Montee Ball,
who finished fourth in the 2011 voting, was Wisconsins
only other finalist. Cooper would be Alabamas second
Heisman winner after Ingram and is the fourth Crimson
Tide player to be invited to the award presentation since
that year. No wide receiver has won the award since
Michigans Desmond Howard in 1991.
