Looking to interact with someone who might help me to find a list of officers of U-178.

I Own a KM leather jacket that is supposed to have belonged to an Officer aboard U-178.

it is unquestionably a KG U boat  grey goatskin  leather Jacket  and allegedly it belonged to a "Komandant" of KM U-boot 178.

can anyone please help too provide a list of officers or at least point me in the direction of where I may find the list? I would at least like to know whop it may have belonged to.

Greetings U-bekante, and welcome to our quiet corner of the Internet!

With regard to your question, if you believe the jacket you have belonged to a former commander of the U 178, you can narrow your search down to three men -

Kpt. Hans Ibbeken (2/42-2/43)
Krvkpt. Wilhelm Dommes (2-11/43)
Kptlt. Wilhelm Spahr (11/43-8/44)

I don't know anything about Ibbeken, and Dommes survived the war - he passed away in 1990. Of course, U 178's last skipper Spahr has a connection with U 47!
