Following on from a page on the BBC website (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6955249.stm), a fine edition of the famous 'Günther Prien' board game is up for auction this week:

If I could get out of work I might fancy heading down there!

Hi Kaleun,
An interesting item that board game. Not sure if I would want to play it though!
By the way, a few days ago I met a lady whose husband has been working
on the removal of oil from the Royal Oak. I think he was part of the
Adus team. She said that a lot of oil has been removed in the past few
years. Also that there are still munitions trapped inside. There is an
article on the removal at -

Intreresting article Dougie, thanks. I wonder how many years it will take to truly make the Oak safe - the oil problem is bad enough, but trapped munitions as well?

Hi Kaleun,
The lady did say that they had taken a lot of oil out this
summer. But yeah, I guess it will be a while yet till it is all
removed.
Cheers,
Dougie
