Not sure if this is the right forum to post them, but he was in submarines pre-WW2, enlisting in 1929.
I've acquired his photo album, from his time serving on the China Station.
Here's a few interesting photos.

The ill-fated HMS Poseidon, sank after a collision with a steamer on July 9th 1931. Subsequently the wreck was salvaged by the Chinese in the 1970s, that's only been revealed recently.

The Poseidon. A postcard sold to raise funds for the dependants of the crew, it was lost with all hands. On the back is written. "I paid 10/- for this card the proceeds go to the dependants of those who lost their lives" 10 Shillings was a lot of money in the 1930s.

My Grandfather (With pipe) inside HMS Perseus. The Perseus sank in December 1941, after striking a mine in the Ionian Sea.

P-class submarines moored alongside their depot ship, I believe that this is HMS Medway, sunk by U 372 on the 30th June 1942.

A view of Hong Kong harbour. A close inspection shows dozens of vessels of all sizes. The big warship on the right, appears to be a French heavy cruiser of the Duguay-Trouin class. The smaller, 4-funnelled destroyers are American, DD216 USS John D Edwards, 219 USS Edsell & DD230 USS Paul Jones, all of the Clemson class, are visible.
