Does anyone know if Italian submarines and U-boats ever hunted together?

I have never heard of any such patrols. The Germans in the Med. were under their own Commanders and took orders from Berlin as the Boots in the Atlantic.

I am fairly certain that 29.Flotilla took orders from the Kriegsmarine's Med. Command rather than from BdU.
