PHILADELPHIA -- For the Philadelphia Eagles to go worst-
to-first in the NFC East, they had to win at home. Bye-
bye, losing streak. Nick Foles threw for 298 yards and
spun free for a touchdown, LeSean McCoy ran for two
scores and the Eagles snapped a 10-game losing skid at
Lincoln Financial Field with a 24-16 victory over the
Washington Redskins on Sunday. A year after finishing 4-
12 under Andy Reid, Chip Kelly had guided his Eagles (6-
5) to the division lead. Theyre a half-game ahead of idle
Dallas (5-5). The defending division champion Redskins
rallied in the fourth quarter but fell short, dropping to
3-7. "I dont look at it globally," Kelly said. "We have
five games in December and we put ourselves in position
where those games are meaningful. Well see where were at
Dec. 29." The Eagles hadnt won at home in 413 days since
defeating the New York Giants on Sept. 30, 2012. Theyll
enter their bye week on a three-game winning streak,
having turned things around after consecutive home losses
last month. "Not one person on this team was defeated,"
Foles said. "Everybody in our locker room believed we can
win and if you feel that way, its something special. We
have to keep the momentum going." Down 24-0 in the fourth
quarter, the Redskins rallied behind Robert Griffin IIIs
TD passes of 62 yards to Darrel Young and 41 yards to
Aldrick Robinson and both 2-point conversions. RG3 then
drove the Redskins to the Eagles 18 before his pass off
his back foot was intercepted by Brandon Boykin in the
end zone. "I was trying to throw the ball in the back of
the end zone," he said. "It didnt get to where I wanted
it to go. Obviously I was on my heels. Something I can
definitely learn from." Foles didnt throw any TD passes
after tossing 10 in the past two games. But he still
hasnt thrown an interception this year, extending his
streak to 199 passes without a pick. Foles tied an NFL
record with seven TD passes in a win at Oakland two weeks
ago and followed it with three more in a victory at Green
Bay. McCoy finished with 77 yards rushing and 73
receiving. He leads the NFL with 1,009 yards on the
ground. Foles had a career-best 47 yards rushing. "Were
all playing as one," McCoy said. "Earlier in the year,
the offence was playing good and defence wasnt or defence
was playing good and offence wasnt. Now were clicking.
The Redskins started their last drive at their 4 with
3:26 left after a 70-yard punt by Donnie Jones. Griffin
completed a 28-yard pass to Santana Moss on third-and-25
and Washington eventually moved to the 18 before the
pick. Griffin was 17 of 35 for 264 yards and ran for 44
yards. "Took us until the fourth quarter to make a couple
plays," Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said. "We had our
opportunity at the end. Just couldnt take advantage of
it." A 33-27 win at Washington in the season opener kick-
started the Kelly Era and raised expectations in what was
supposed to be a rebuilding year. The Eagles lost the
next three games before winning five of seven. Foles
replaced an injured Michael Vick in the first half of a
victory at the Giants on Oct. 6, and has led the Eagles
to a 4-1 record since. The Redskins couldnt generate much
offence until Griffin connected with Young after
scrambling early in the fourth quarter. He hit Nick
Williams on the conversion. Robinson made a nice
adjustment to catch Griffins underthrown deep pass for
the next score, and RG3 dived in from the 2 for the
conversion. But Washington couldnt complete the comeback.
Foles ran in from the 4 for a 7-0 lead, even showing some
athleticism with a spin move after getting hit at the 2
and then reaching for the end zone. A 49-yard pass to
McCoy set up the score. One play after Brent Celek turned
a tight-end screen pass into a 42-yard gain, McCoy ran in
untouched from the 1. The Redskins drove to the Eagles 8
before Griffin was sacked by Connor Barwin and fumbled.
The ball popped straight up and was recovered by Fletcher
Cox. The Eagles turned that into a 24-yard field goal by
Alex Henery to make it 17-0. McCoy left briefly after
injuring his right hamstring in the second quarter and
scored on a 1-yard run to put the Eagles up 24-0 in the
third. NOTES: LB Mychal Kendricks (knee), S Earl Wolff
(knee), and CB Bradley Fletcher (pectoral) were
Philadelphias injured defensive starters. ... Redskins TE
Jordan Reed (concussion), DE Stephen Bowen (knee) and WR
Leonard Hankerson (knee) left the game. ... The Eagles
lost their first four home games this season.

a career-high 13 assists, dove for loose balls and tipped
a missed shot to a teammate with three seconds left. Not
bad for Bostons 5-foot-11 undrafted rookie who learned
after pregame warmups that he would start for just the
ninth time. "I started before, so it really wasnt that
big a deal," he said. It was to the Celtics, who held off
a late surge and broke a season-long nine-game losing
streak with a 106-103 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on
Friday night. Pressey got the call when Rajon Rondo
realized his left shin was too sore for him to play.
"Phil Pressey gave us a great lift on the defensive end,"
said Avery Bradley, who led Boston with 22 points. "I
feel like thats why we won the game." Boston led 104-103
before Jared Sullinger made two free throws with 2.5
seconds left. Charlotte called timeout then got the ball
to Jannero Pargo, who missed a straightaway 3-point shot
as time expired. "I put my hands up to make him make a
tough shot," Pressey said. "He was kind of fading away.
If he made that shot we would have gone into overtime. If
not, we win." The Bobcats were led by Al Jefferson with
32 points and 10 rebounds and Gary Neal with 13 points.
"We got what we deserved," Jefferson said. "There was no
way we can go in the playoffs with that type of mindset."
Charlottes season-best five-game winning streak ended as
it dropped into the seventh and the next-to-last playoff
spot in the Eastern Conference. It trails Washington by
one game after the Wizards beat Orlando 96-86 Friday
night. Boston has the fourth-worst record in the NBA
after entering the game tied with Orlando for the third-
worst. Sullinger scored 20 points and Pressey had 10 with
three steals. Charlotte also was missing its top guard,
Kemba Walker, who sat out with a sore right groin. Coach
Steve Clifford didnt know if he would play Saturday night
against Philadelphia. "Im really more concerned about the
guys on the floor,&quuot; Clifford said.dddddddddddd "We
had very little defence." In a game of surges, Jeffersons
short jumper gave Charlotte a 97-96 lead with 4:01
remaining. Boston went ahead 104-97 by scoring the next
eight points on a 3-pointer by Sullinger, a layup by Jeff
Green and a 3-pointer by Bradley. Luke Ridnours basket
with 1:39 to go stopped the run and Jeffersons follow of
a missed shot made it 104-101 with 51 seconds left. Then
Jeffersons layup cut the lead to one point with 29
seconds to play. With the 24-second clock about to
expire, Sullinger missed a 3-pointer, but Pressey tipped
the rebound to Brandon Bass. The Bobcats fouled him and
Boston took the ball out from the side. Sullinger was
fouled immediately when he took the inbounds pass. "Thats
just one of the winning plays that coach (Brad) Stevens
talks about," Pressey said of his tip, "diving for a
loose ball, boxing out, taking the charge, getting
offensive rebounds." The Bobcats didnt do enough of that.
"We just didnt put much into the game," Clifford said.
Boston led 57-55 at halftime and scored the last 12
points of the third quarter, turning a 75-72 deficit into
an 84-75 lead. Bass had five points and Green added four
during the rally. The Celtics stretched that to 90-77
before the Bobcats came back with a 10-point run to cut
the lead to three. Bradleys basket stopped the surge, but
Charlotte tied it at 92 with 5:13 to go on a layup by
Jefferson and a 3-pointer by Gerald Henderson. But two
days after wasting a nine-point lead with 5:44 left and
losing to Atlanta 105-97, the Celtics held on. "We
learned our lesson," Sullinger said. "We stayed poised."
NOTES: Boston F Kris Humphries returned after missing two
games with a sore right knee. ... Sullinger suffered a
mild left ankle sprain in the third quarter and returned
in the fourth. ... Presseys previous high was 11 assists.
... Jefferson is 1-12 in his career against the Celtics.
He has a double-double in 10 of his past 12 games.
