What is now known as the Lincoln Dress Boutique is the result of evolution formal dresses .

It was awesome to have a complete grasp of how to set up a store and present my clothes. I changed monitors several times until I found one that worked for me.

I opened this retail store around Thanksgiving 2019. Business started slowly but continued to pick up. By February, business was in full swing. It was prom season, and a lot of people came to the store to buy proms.

Most of my customers are renters, but there are a few who decide to buy their dresses. It's fun to watch the decision-making process of the discerning prom shopper. It's awesome when they find the dress they want and get excited about it. I love being able to help these girls find their clothes and, in most cases, save a lot of money.

The first two weeks of March are particularly busy. The prom is approaching, and more and more girls are eager to find a dress that suits them. During this time I sold and rented several pieces of clothing.

It was also during this time that the news of the coronavirus became more and more widespread. I paid little attention to it at first. However, as time went on, it became clear that this virus was going to change everything.

My biggest concern is prom being canceled and the girls not being able to wear the clothes of their choice. A customer who happened to be my last customer in the store chose a dress but didn't rent it until later in the week. Prom was canceled following word that schools might close.

The customer never came back to buy the dress. During that week, schools were closed and proms were canceled. My fears have been fulfilled.

Realizing that I would not have any more clients for a while, I closed Lincoln Formal Rental & Sales in mid-March. I don't know what the future holds. My lease is up in May and I was going to renew, but now I'm not sure.

I went out in mid-March and basically didn't come back until May. I realize there won't be any campaigns anytime soon and the products I'm selling won't be needed. I have decided to close the store permanently. Sadly, the full potential of this store will not be realized.

During this time, however, I decided to reinvent my business again. I am excited to close shop because I have a new plan.

The website you see today is the new plan. My business is online with a great new e-commerce site. However, what sets it apart from other e-commerce businesses is that it is a combination of e-commerce and face-to-face selling.

In short, my clients will be able to buy dresses online and pick out dresses that are rented. They will then have the opportunity to try on their options before deciding which one they want to rent.
