Hello Pavel, I figured you must have been up to something as your posts at Ricks other site have been few and far between.

Not really. What makes it even better is that my girlfriend of three and a half years decided she wanted some space, and has a preliminary diagnosis for a couple of disorders, but that's no surprise. For the record, no, I did not meet her at an asylum. ;)
And my family is predisposed to alcoholism. If this is how their lives went early on I can see how that's the case. Fortunately, I don't drink.
The government is f**king with me when it comes to legally owning firearms, so I can't even go down to the range and work off some stress through a couple boxes of ammunition. At this point I'm starting to get tempted to ask the Russians to bring in an SVD-K for me. "I f**king TRIED to own a rifle legally, but you kept "losing the paperwork" you pricks."

Sorry about your gal. Never know though maybe she'll find she wants you in her space. What kind of firearm are you trying to obtain?

Yeah, now we're in a fun spot where she doesn't "know" if she loves me or not (I'd figure after 3.5 years, one would...) or if it was because her parents don't show her any affection and she was clinging to me because I do. It's been disheartening.
I have a M1891/30 Mosin Nagant; mine by right of purchase but according to the gov't belongs to my mate because it's registered to him. Manufactured in 1928 by Izhvesk, if I remember the marking correctly. I'll be keeping it "Infantry Pattern," she's full length - none of this M38 or M44 carbine crap - and I'm going to be looking for some ammunition pouches and a bayonet + bayonet frog to hang off my belt for the sake of it. Complete with "dog collars" and webbing sling. Great rifle; blew a cinderblock in half at 400 meters over iron sights; shoots a little bit to the right of true but I'll have her lined up again.
Also looking to acquire a "matched" (bolt and rifle serial numbers mesh) "Long Nagant" (M1891/30) that I can turn the bolt handle down on and affix a Soviet WWII optic to. Kalinka sells a good product, I'll be going through them. The idea is to get that zeroed for about 400 meters.
Basically, I'm trying to own the most legal rifle in the world, if you live in Canada. It's over five feet long, so it's not like I can conceal it. It's bolt action, and has a five round only integral magazine, so I can't pull out a pin and get an illegal number of rounds into the magazine like I could with, say a SVT-40 where I'm only supposed to have five in the magazine - unless it's a shotgun, then two in the magazine one in the chamber. Handguns are ten in the magazine.
Speaking of the SVT-40, I'm going to get one of those too soon. Sweet, sweet Tokarev rifles. How I love them.

Not that famialiar with Russian rifles but I do like a nice bolt action rifle! In the past I owned a kar98 and presently have a Lee-Enfield, or as we call them a 303 British.
So whats going on with the Canadian Govt. just keep losing your paperwork? At over 5 feet long what would the weight be of a "Long Nagant"?

I'd fight you for that KAR-98K, and you'd lose. That's how badly I want one.
Enfield No.4 SMLE is on my list, and perhaps a Ross Rifle Mk.II as well, just for that little bit of Canada that got so many Canadians killed because the bolt design is great on the range, sh*t anywheres else.
I don't know what the gov't keeps doing. I don't think they know either. My M1891/30 weighs about three and a half kilograms, as I remember it. Pretty sure once you fit the spike bayonet on it, it tips over the four kilogram mark. Nothing particularly heavy.
