Its palettes are largely unassuming yet its execution leaves little to be desired; dressed tonally, the uppers pair shades of both white and grey throughout with hardshell supports distinguishing themselves against mesh, buffed leathers, and suede through a barely yellowed finish. New Balance 574 Online “N” logos are stripped down relative to mainline releases and the “JUNYA WATANABE MAN” logo prints along the insole, leaving other branding mostly standard in their contrasting flourish.

Rather than expressive in color, the pair takes on a split tooling in three different sections: the toe, which is the darkest by far, takes on black hues at both its suede and mesh fabrications; midfoots go up the tonal spectrum barely in a swathe that is reminiscent of JJJJound’s own 990v3; and the last shade, one closer to OGs than the rest, appears almost white by comparison though its certainly ripped from general issues.
Thanks to a mix of compelling collaborations and clean in-line colorways, the New Balance 574 Men's/Women's has already made its mark on the world of sneakers, and now it’s set to keep on truckin’ with this new USA-friendly white, blue, and red makeup. A white mesh base and grey suede overlays take up the majority of this 990v5’s real estate, but bold pops of color get their time to shine too, with a rich royal blue appearing on the toe cap, tongue, and midfoot logo’s trim, while bright and bold red graces the ENCAP midsole’s rear half.
