the Buffalo Sabres after completing their longest road trip of the season

Philadelphia Flyers.Vegas (2-4-0) suffered losses against Buffalo, Washington
and Pittsburgh on the trip, but a stirring 1-0 win over the Flyers puts the
Golden Knights in the right frame of mind for their rematch with the Sabres, who
are 3-2-0 after opening their West coast swing Saturday night with a 3-0 win
over the Arizona Coyotes. The Sabres began the season with a 2-2 homestand,
including a 4-2 win over Vegas on Oct. 8 behind two goals by captain Jack
Eichel. Buffalo will play five games out west in 10 days. The Golden Knights
just finished a five-game trip that spanned seven days.Article continues below
...¡°It wasn¡¯t our best road trip, but 2-3 is better than 1-4, so those are
valuable points going back west

Sean Couturier Jersey ,¡± said Vegas forward Cody Eakin, who scored
the lone goal Saturday late in the third period.Veteran goaltender Marc-Andre
Fleury recorded 26 saves against the Flyers in his first shutout of the season.
The victory kept the Golden Knights from a fourth straight loss, which never
occurred last year in the regular season of their magical inaugural run in the
NHL.¡°It¡¯s been a tough beginning to the season,¡± Fleury told the Las Vegas
Review-Journal. ¡°I think our play has been improving throughout the road trip. I
don¡¯t know, nobody likes to lose, and we had to finish on a good note.¡±The
difficult road trip is similar to what the Golden Knights experienced last
season. The Knights had only three points out of six road games between October
and November in 2017. This year¡¯s longest trip had four points in five games. The
Golden Knights rebounded from last year¡¯s early struggle on the road by winning
six of their next seven games. How will they fare this time around? They have an
opportunity to make up some points with the next five games at the T-Mobile
Arena.¡°Just forget about the losses and build off this win,¡± forward Ryan
Carpenter told the Review-Journal after the long road trip. ¡°All season we try
to just take it one day at a time and when you lose three in a row
Shayne
Gostisbehere Jersey , it¡¯s never a good feeling, especially after
having higher expectations this year. But just off confidence, go home, get some
rest and be ready for the next game.¡±Vegas¡¯ defense allowed 14 goals in the
first four games of the trip before blanking Philadelphia. The Knights had only
eight goals in the five games. They remain without Alex Tuch (lower-body injury)
and the suspended Nate Schmidt. Paul Stastny (lower-body) and Deryk Engelland
(arm) were injured on the trip. ¡°We feel good leaving the road trip now,¡± Vegas
coach Gerard Gallant said after Saturday¡¯s game. ¡°It was a tough trip. We¡¯re
going back home for a bunch of games and it¡¯s going to be a long flight home but
it¡¯s going to be a good flight. We¡¯re 2-4 and we¡¯re battling back.¡±Buffalo
started its road trip in promising fashion with the win over Arizona, which
included the first career goal of 18-year-old defenseman Rasmus Dahlin with less
than three minutes into the game when he buried a loose puck in the
crease.Sabres coach Phil Housley said Dahlin¡¯s teammates were enthusiastic over
the goal. Reporters noted that the celebrating Sabres could easily be heard
outside the dressing room.¡°They were really glad,¡± Dahlin said on NHL.com. ¡°That
makes me glad

We¡¯re a good team.¡± BOSTON (AP) ¡ª Carey Price knew he had a lot of help in front
of him and was more than willing to credit them.Price stopped 33 shots for his
first shutout of the season, collecting his 290th career win with Montreal to
move into second place in team history in the Canadiens¡¯ 3-0 win over the Boston
Bruins on Saturday night.¡°Shutouts should be a team stat, really,¡± he said.
¡°Everybody did an excellent job on defense tonight.¡±Price moved ahead of Hall of
Famer Patrick Roy and is now only behind Jacques Plante ¡ª another Hall of Famer
¡ª who collected 314 victories with the Canadiens.Brendan Gallagher and Max Domi
scored 1:21 apart midway into the first period and Price took over from
there.¡°We did what we had to do in the third period to protect the lead and get
the win,¡± said Canadiens coach Claude Julien, who coached Boston¡¯s 2011 Stanley
Cup-winning team. The Canadiens snapped a six-game losing streak against the
Bruins, with the last victory coming at home on November 8

2016. It was Price¡¯s 41st career shutout.¡°It¡¯s always nice to get that,¡± he said
of the shutout. ¡°A little bit of icing on the cake.¡±The Bruins lost for the
first time at home this season after winning their first four ¨C all in
regulation. They were the last NHL team to lose at home. Tuukka Rask made 20
saves.Gallagher gave the Canadiens a 1-0 lead 9:18 into the game when he beat
Rask on a tough-angle shot. The winger fired a wrister from the right circle
that slipped into the net between Rask¡¯s left arm and the post.During a delayed
penalty, Domi¡¯s hustle led to his goal that made it 2-0 at 10:39. Artturi
Lehkonen was hooked breaking in alone and the puck slid behind the net where it
collected it and sent it out front. Domi charged in, got the puck and shifted
Rask out of position before firing it into the net under the cross bar.The game
lacked any real intensity in the first meeting of the season between the
longtime rivals; mainly because Montreal dominated defensively, limiting
Boston¡¯s chances with tight defense.¡°There¡¯s a lot of things that we didn¡¯t do,¡±
Boston¡¯s Patrice Bergeron said. ¡°Obviously, he¡¯s a great goalie

but I don¡¯t think his job was very hard tonight.¡±The Bruins pulled Rask with
just under three minutes to play for an extra skater, and even that didn¡¯t get
them any good scoring chances before Jordie Benn banked home any empty-netter
with 29 seconds left.Boston¡¯s Ryan Donato had a goal waved off early in the
second period after a coach¡¯s challenge. The play was ruled offside after a
replay review.Boston¡¯s lack of offensive punch in the opening two periods did
very little to excite the sold-out crowd. Even a video showing Red Sox
highlights only brought loud cheers for a few seconds.¡°They have a lot of
smaller forwards who are able to get in on the forecheck and force teams to make
plays they don¡¯t want to,¡± Boston defenseman Matt Grzelcyk said. ¡°They did that
to us pretty well tonight.¡±Montreal¡¯s defense did a good job of giving up most
of the shots from far outside where Price was able to handle them easily. The
Bruins¡¯ best bid came in the closing seconds of second period when Price made a
splendid glove save on Joakim Nordtsrom¡¯s wrist shot.NOTES: Domi extended his
point streak to six games (five goals, three assists). ¡ Bruins D Charlie McAvoy
and F David Backes each missed their fourth straight game with what the team
called an upper body injury. ¡ Price entered with a solid regular season record
in his career against Boston: 24-11-5 with a 2.42 goals-against average. ¡ It
was the Bruins¡¯ 390h straight sellout at TD Garden.UP NEXTCanadiens: Host the
