Hello everyone,

There are 4 U 47 photos for sale on Ebay at present -

This is just after the 6th patrol. Looks like the boat is just going into the Krupp shipyard so that would be 8th July 1940. The air trunks were added during this refit.

I've seen one or two others in this series, taken sometime in autumn 1940 at Lorient. It was probably in the lead up to the 8th patrol, possibly the 9th. Note the UZO column.

Taken on 20th February 1941 at Lorient, just before departure on the last patrol. The officer talking to Prien might be Herbert Sohler, Prien's immediate superior and chief of the 7th U-Flottille. Sohler was the man who ordered that all 7th U-Flottille boats were to adopt the snorting bull aftyer Prien's loss.

Also taken on 20th February 1941, departing on the last patrol. Prien has a megaphone in his hand ready to address the onlookers.

Hi guys,

The deck project is coming along well. Got a VIIC one to do first before a U 47 one. There are quite a few areas of the Revell deck that need altering so it will take a wee while!
