    Saw this post at another site and thought it interesting, and was wondering what your opinion would be. It was set up as a poll but I'm not going to do it that way, anyway here goes:

     Was the verdict handed down at Nuremberg of ten years for Donitz;

      1, Allies were right to sentnce him to ten years.

      2, As a high ranking Nazi he deserved a tougher sentence.

      3, Should have received a lesser sentence or been aquitted.

    Gentlemen your opinions please.

Option 3.

Doenitz committed no more or less 'crimes' than any other naval commander during WW2 on all sides did. The charge that submarine warfare was by definition 'aggressive' was the height of absurdity.

I think too much emphasis was placed on his being chosen as Hitler's successor.

3, however since he took part in the coraption of the KM with Nazi ideology he should have sentenced by a German de-Nazification court.

Option 3.

After all, Admiral Nimitz testified for Doenitz.
