Hello everyone,

We'd like to let you know that a new range of decals are available for U-boat models. The first set depicts the white draft numbers that were present on all Type VII U-boats (three sets were present on either side of the hull). This is our second production run of the draft numbers decals. Our first run was created for our U-Brass PE set but these unfortunately ran out. A number of fellow modellers asked us to produce more, which we have done in a second production run. The draft numbers are available in 144th and 72nd scales under our new name Accurate Model Parts (AMP).

Also available is our range of snorting bull decals. We have created 6 sizes of snorting bull decals - a normal and large size in 144th, 72nd and 35th scale.

All decals were printed professionally by Macdou Transfers Ltd; they adhere very well and do not react to solvents. Photos of the draft number decals on a 72nd U-boat model can be seen at our website at -

http://amp.rokket.biz/decals.shtml

Cheers,

Wink and Dougie

GREAT !

If I get it right, I'd have to order:
Item # A-72W as waterline decalls and
Item # DK-KMNE-80X135-072 for the german flag

for my Revell U-47 model???

Hi Trigger,

Thanks for your interest in the decals and flags. Can I ask the scale your model kit? Is it the old Revell U 47 in 1/125th scale?

Or are you converting the newer Revell VIIC in 72nd scale or Revell VIIC in 144th scale?

Once you tell me the scale I can advise further.

Cheers,

Dougie

Hi Dougie,

Good you ask, so I double checked and I indeed have the 1/125 Revell kit. But not the open one. I have the closed one. On the box was U-99 I think, but I created it like the U-47. But I see there are the 1/72 and 1/144 scale sets. Too bad  I guess. I have a Calypso (Cousteau's boat) model and replaced the plastic decall flags with fabric ones and that just makes a lot of difference.

Peter

Hi Peter,

We knew about the Revell 125th U-boat kits so we included Kreigsmarine flags in that size. The order code for the flag is DK-KMNE-80X135-125

For the decals, the 144th waterlines should be okay for you. The 144th waterlines are 7mm in height, whereas the 125th would be 8mm. So if you can live with the 1mm difference then the 144th waterlines would work well for you. The order code is B-144W.

In 144th scale we do bulls in two sizes - normal and larger. The larger 144th scale bull would do very well for your 125th U 47 model. The larger 144th bull is 7mm in height so it would be within 0.5mm or so from the true U 47 bull size in 125th scale. The code is F-144L.

If you do order from AMP then feel free to download the articles from the library section while you are at the website. This may help with paint colours. Also have a look at my AMP colleague Wink Grise's U 557 build at -

http://www.rokket.biz/models/modelsweb/rokket/u557/

Thanks for your Dutch translations, and keep us informed of your model.

Cheers,

Dougie

Which only shows I did not read the website good enough I just placed the order for the water line decalls and the flag. I have the U-47 ready for the rest. I just asked Revell if they could supply me with a new set of U-47 decalls because I repainted my model. They sent me a set in return without any costs

Your welcome. And for the pictures, well, I did sent a bunch in quite a while ago for inclusion in the soon to be opened MODEL ZONE, her Kaleun!!! Come on, when can we see the works of our fellow members ???

Oh, and btw, when I click "continue shopping" in the paypal shop, the browser window just closes without bringing me back to the website...

Wel, that made me very depressed. And I was so happy with the way my model came out, this one looks like they just plucked it out of a real mission, what a great job !!!

Hi Peter,

Many thanks for the pdf comment. Another extremely impressive build can be found at -

http://u-552.blogspot.com/

Not sure about the ordering glitch. Can you please send me a PM with your email and I can give you Wink's email to sort it out? Many thanks.

When your model is completed you can load your photos onto Photobucket. Then it is easy enough to paste the image into forum posts. It can be done very quickly indeed.

Have a good weekend.

Cheers,

Dougie

Hi Dougie,
Received the waterline decals yesterday. Man they are tiny :) Have to find a quiet place to fit them correctly. Thanks.

What kind of settling sollution do i need (the red roo site says something about a compatible settling sollution) I the past I just used water to lift the decals...

Bestregards, Peter
